HeartLove Place Awarded Wellness Grant
HeartLove Place was recently awarded a $2,500 grant from the Department of Public Instruction, Child and Adult Care Food Program to focus on developing healthy living for adults and children. This grant will be used primarily to introduce children, families, adults and HeartLove Place staff to healthy food choices and options for healthier living. Parents attending Family Fun Night events will participate in cooking demonstrations, will receive healthy recipes and have opportunities to taste new foods. Children that attend HeartLove Place Programs will be introduced to monthly healthy snacks and food demonstrations as well. “HeartLove Place is equipped with one of the largest food programs in the central city, serving hundreds of children every day, and we are glad to have this opportunity and provide healthy choices for the community.” said Viola Rembert, Executive Director.
